Salted Caramel Apple Pie Recipe

Ingredients

  • Pastry for single crust pie (9 inches)
  • Filling
  • 6 cups peeled, sliced tart apples (about 6 medium)
  • 2/3 cup sugar
  • 2 TBsp melted butter
  • 2 TBsp lemon juice
  • 2 TBsp Minute Tapioca
  • 2 TBsp Smuckers Salted Caramel topping
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp nutmeg
  • Topping
  • 1/4 cup flour
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 2 TBsp cold butter
  • 1/4 cup chopped pecans
  • 1/4 cup quick-cooking oats
  • 2 TBsp coconut

Instructions

    1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees.
    2. Line a 9" pie plate with pastry, flute edges.
    3. In a large bowl, combine filling ingredients, let stand for 15 minutes.
    4. Stir well and spoon filling into pastry crust.
    5. Drizzle with 2 or 4 more TBsp of Salted Caramel topping.
    6. For topping, combine flour and brown sugar in small bowl.
    7. Cut in butter until crumbly.
    8. Stir in nuts, oats and coconut.
    9. Sprinkle over pie filling.
    10. Cover the crust edges with a pie crust shield or foil to prevent over-browning.
    11. Bake at 375 degrees for 45-50 minutes.
    12. Cool on wire rack.
    13. Serve warm with ice cream!
