We made Resurrection Rolls to celebrate Easter! We got this great idea from my son’s CCD teacher, Crystal Steffen. We first made them with Pillsbury crescent rolls and then with my mom’s homemade crescent roll recipe (recipe coming soon). Can you guess which ones were better?
These are the simple ingredients.
The kids preparing “Jesus” for the tomb. Some taste testing was involved. Concentration was also involved.

Jesus is gone! Where did Jesus go???
Ingredients
-
2 pkgs Pillsbury Crescent Rolls
-
16 large Marshmallows
-
1/4 cup Butter, melted
-
1/4 cup Sugar
-
1 tsp Cinnamon
Instructions
- Read John Chapter 19 while the oven is preheating to 350 degrees.
- Unroll the crescent rolls and place on a rimmed baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Explain that this is the like the cloth they wrapped Jesus in.
- Give your child a marshmallow and explain that is represents Jesus, all white and pure because He was with sin.
- Roll the marshmallows in the melted better. This symbolizes the embalming oils.
- Roll the marshmallows in the cinnamon/sugar. This is like the spices used to prepare his body for burial.
- Wrap the marshmallows in the crescent roll cloth, pinching the dough together securely. This represents how they wrapped Jesus' body.
- Put the rolls in the oven; symbolizing the tomb. Bake for 12 minutes.
- While the rolls are baking, read John 20:1-18
- Open the tomb and remove the rolls. When they're cool enough to handle, break one open and discover what happened to the marshmallow.
We will definitely make these again!!!
