There’s nothing quite like the smell of freshly baked bread wafting through your home, and with this simple 4-ingredient recipe, you can enjoy that comforting aroma any time. This homemade bread is easy to make, requiring just a few pantry staples and minimal effort. I’ve even made a small tweak to the original recipe to make it even more approachable. No Dutch oven? No problem! I used an oven-safe pan and a baking sheet, and it turned out beautifully. Whether you’re a seasoned baker or a beginner, this recipe is sure to become a favorite in your kitchen. Let’s get started!
Homemade Bread
Ingredients
- 3 cups flour
- 2 cups warm water (make sure it’s not over 110 degrees)
- One packet of active or fast rising yeast
- 2 tsp salt
Instructions
Combine ingredients in a bowl. The dough will be sticky. Cover and set in a warm area (I just set it on the counter) and let rise for 2 to 3 hours or until it doubles in size.
Knead the dough on a floured surface and shape into a round loaf. Add flour as needed to make desired shape.
Place in a covered Dutch oven and bake it for 30 minutes at 450° and then 15 minutes uncovered.
Notes
I don’t have a Dutch oven so I used a oven safe pan with a baking sheet on top.
