Ingredients

  • 2 lbs lean stew meat, cubed
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp pepper
  • 1 bag frozen stew vegetables
  • 2 tsp sugar
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 12 oz tomato juice or V-8 juice

Instructions

  1. Combine the flour, salt, and pepper in a gallon-sized Ziploc storage bag. Add the cubed stew meat to the bag, seal, and shake until the meat is well-coated with flour.
  2. Place the coated meat in the bottom of a large roasting pan or oven-proof casserole dish.
  3. Layer the frozen stew vegetables evenly over the meat.
  4. Sprinkle the sugar and additional salt over the vegetables.
  5. Pour the tomato juice or V-8 juice evenly over the top.
  6. Cover the pan and bake at 250°F for 5 hours.
  7. Serve warm. This recipe serves 8.
